Wildlife
My biggest passion is wildlife conservation. Living out this passion, I worked as a full-time manager of the Endangered Wildlife Trust for nine years, and have had an association with them for 40 years. A keen bird watcher, I have also operated as a tour guide in the Kruger National Park.
The highlight of my wildlife career was taking the first South African group to the Democratic Republic of Congo to see the endangered mountain gorillas.
I also spent time on the Galapagos islands of Ecuador.
Archaeology
A long-time member of the Archaeological Society of SA, I am equally fascinated by ancient Egyptian history and,bushman paintings and engravings.
Shipwrecks
I am a member of the Ship Society of SA and am fascinated by local South African and international shipwrecks – the Waratah and the Titanic being just two of them.
Aviation
As the daughter of a man who spent his life in aviation, it became a natural interest for me. Aerobatics, helicopter-flying, gliding, hot-air ballooning, and more are other life passions of mine.
Food and Cookery
The picture tells the story of my love for recipe books and, of course, food.
Medical Forensics
I’m currently researching DNA and its utility in solving murders. DNA familial profiling is a relatively new science that l am also following avidly, despite not having a medical background myself.
